Kaiapoi is easily accessed from the Northern Motorway, State Highway 1, just 20 minutes north of Christchurch.  When you enter Kaiapoi you will discover why the river town is a popular destination for locals and visitors.

The Kaiapoi river meanders through the town and is a popular playground for rowing, boating, fishing and the annual river carnival. Hire a bike and cycle the tracks alongside the river with views of the Kaiapoi township. The Kaiapoi Golf Course and the Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre are popular recreation places. Come on out and visit and discover why Kaiapoi is a place for family fun and was awarded New Zealand's most beautiful town in 2009.
