State Highway One - Turn Left!

Easily accessed by road and within 10 minutes of Christchurch Airport are the river town of Kaiapoi, the country village of Ohoka, the beach settlements of Waikuku and Woodend and a brand new town - Pegasus.

From Christchurch International Airport: Turn left onto State Highway 1

Ohoka: Accommodation, Gardens, Farmers Market

Kaiapoi: i-SITE Information Centre,  MV Tuhoe, Kaiapoi Club

Woodend: Accommodation, Prenzels

Pegasus: Pegasus Sports & Golf Centre, Bunker Bar & Cafe, Lake Hire Centre, Flat White Cafe, beach access

Waikuku Beach: Holiday Park, beach, lagoon, playground, surfing, cycling and walking tracks.

Inland Scenic Route 72 - Turn Right!

Take a detour off the State Highway and along the less travelled country roads of rural North Canterbury and enjoy close up views of the Southern Alps.

Heading South: Turn right at Amberley and travel through to Rangiora and Oxford.

Heading North from Queenstown, Mt Cook and Geraldine:  Continue from Geraldine to the West Coast Road and turn right at Sheffield.

On your journey you will discover the towns of Rangiora, Cust and Oxford and also the spectacular Waimakariri Gorge.
