The Event Services area of our website assists those who wish to run events in the Waimakariri District and apply for event funding.

You will find application forms and the criteria for any community, seed or repeat events.

Event Funding

Visit Waimakariri allocate funding to support events that clearly demonstrate economic and/or community benefit to the Waimakariri District. The funding is split into two streams, Community Event Funding $5,000 and Seed Funding $15,000.

Community Events Funding

This Community Events funding is for events that celebrate a particular area of the community and the diversity of the district. The event will have a feel good factor and be open for all to participate or attend.
Maximum - $750
Closing Dates: 1st March, 1st June, 1st September, 1st December

Seed Funding

The purpose of Seed Funding is to support events that clearly demonstrate economic and community benefit to the Waimakariri District. These events attract significant numbers residents within and visitors to the Waimakariri District and have wide public appeal. 
Maximum - $3,750
Closing Dates: 30th September and 31st March.

We encourage you to have your application in, at stated closing dates, however we will look at new events that may need funding within those times.

Repeat Seed Funding

Repeat Seed Funding is to support events that have received Seed or Repeat Seed Funding in the previous two years and is running for either the second or third time.
Closing Dates: 30th September and 31st March

We encourage you to have your application in at stated closing dates, however we will look at new events that may need funding within those times.
