Beautiful Day, a women’s free event for the women of Kaiapoi, sponsored by Wellbeing North Canterbury in partnership with the Todd foundation is geared to spend a day at looking at ways to stay on top of life even though some of do just that. We have three amazing women, all who are from North Canterbury that know and understand what we are going through and would like to address three key issues that control our wellbeing, and that is the body, mind and our breathing control.

Our sensational speakers are:

Tracey Pons PGDipHealSc(Distinction)BSc(Physio)MNZSP MNZPS, Physiotherapist, will be speaking on her own experiences, living in the red zone as well as providing professional insight into how to care for ourselves in stressful times.

Phillipa Hunt, Breathing and Relaxation Techniques: has taught a stretching and strengthening class over the past four years, and will lead us through an experience where we will learn simple and effective methods to relax our bodies.

Dr Joyce Alberts, Phd MNZCCP MINS, a clinical psychologist with the Canterbury District Health Board. A key factor in her work is assisting people in examining how their thoughts influence how they respond to events which in turn impacts on their emotional experience. Through this process, people are able to develop coping strategies that reduces anxiety and distress.
