77 artists from throughout Canterbury will be exhibiting a wide range of artworks alongside guest artist Linelle Stacy.
Located in Christchurch, Linelle is an award winning artist who paints contemporary acrylic landscapes that can be found in collections throughout New Zealand and around the world. Linelle says “Revelling in the colours and textures of our beautiful country I especially enjoy capturing the effects of a low sun on sea, hills and mountains.”
The show's Opening on Friday the 21st September from 7pm is a ticketed R18 event with bar, music, nibbles and more on the night. Tickets are $20 pp and can be purchased from Pegasus Bay School, Kaiapoi i-site and The Flat White Café in Pegasus. Guest artist Linelle Stacey will be completing a painting on the night which you will be able to buy raffle tickets to win! Also on the night you will be able to get your portrait drawn in 10 minutes by well known Christchurch artist Jon Jeet.
Over the weekend the show is open 10am - 4pm and is just a GOLD COIN donation to visit the show.
As well as being able to see the professionals art on show, there will also be an art display by the children of Pegasus Bay school who have been inspired by sessions with members of the WAI and the Rangiora Art Society. There will also be entertainment for the children over the weekend, including Pedalmania who will be onsite 12 - 2 on Saturday only, a bake sale and raffles.
For the first time at Pegasus Bay Art Show there will be art tutorials being run on the Saturday by local artists Quilliam Collister, Joanne Mcdougall and Marie Brown so you can try your hand at watercolours, drawing or “Chics on Sticks”. There will also be “Paint on canvas sessions” for children being run by Bronwyn Hunter from Creative Interactions NZ.
