With the April School holidays fast approaching, we've compiled a TOP 10 THINGS TO DO (actually maybe 11!) list in and around our district - to keep the littlies entertained and your sanity intact!!

Mon - Fri each week, 10.30-1.30, $2 per gingerbread

Let the kids get sticky fingers while you sit back and enjoy a cuppa and natter at Artisan Cafe and Bakery.  Make use of the kids play area too and order some lunch while you're there! 



Rangiora Golf Club, Golflinks Road, Rangiora
22 April, 9am - 2.30pm

The ball is kicked as normal for soccer and you count the number of shots to get the ball into the hole. Played on the Rangiora Golf Course along and across fairways and between trees on rolling terrain, with par 3 , 4 and 5 holes. Scorecard provided. Bring your own ball or hire one.

Donna and Jeanette are playing a game of ‘Guess the Librarian’! Can you help Jeanette figure out who Donna’s mystery person is? 

Come to Oxford, Kaiapoi or Rangiora Library during the school holidays, from Saturday 14th April to Sunday 29th April, and see if you can figure it out! Solve this mystery to enter the prize draw at the end of the holidays.

Kayak or Paddleboard on the Kaiapoi River

Everyday (weather permitting), $10pp per half hour, $15pp per hour.

Clubs and Associations from around the South Island compete in some awesome basketball over 3 days.  Head along to support your team.

A great way to while away a rainy day, pop the kids in the pool and watch them burn that energy!  Dudley Park Aquatic Centre will be running the inflatable obstacle course from 1pm - 3pm daily during the school holidays.

Pegasus ParkPlay at Pegasus Park and Walk the Lake

Pegasus Town, North Canty

Pick a sunny day and hit the playground at Pegasus Lake.  Pop in the kids scooters and take a stroll around the lake followed by lunch at one of the great cafes, great fresh air for all!


Walk or Cycle the New Passchendeale Trail

Rangiora or Kaiapoi start/finish

Start either the Kaiapoi end at Mafeking Footbridge near Smith Street or Rangiora just past Stadium Cars on Lineside Road and take the 8km journey on foot or bike ... and why not jump on the bus to make your way back to where you started - kids love a good bus ride!

16 - 27 April, $60 to take on the room

Take on Rangiora's newest adventure these school holidays - the Pop Up Escape Room.  Groups of 2-6 players must work together to solve a string of challenging puzzles in order to complete the storyline within one hour.  Available for bookings between 9am and 7pm most days in the school holidays.  Phone 021 729 430 to book.
